This site provides an introduction to Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and explains how a plan is being developed to provide the architecture, or system organization and interconnection structure, for ITS in Southern Nevada. ITS uses modern information and communication technologies to mitigate congestion, enhance mobility, and improve safety on roadways. The purpose of regional ITS architecture is to identify integrated systems and opportunities for integration.

Las Vegas and the surrounding area attracts millions of visitors each year and is home to over 2/3 of Nevada’s residents. The Sountern Nevada ITS Plan will help meet the area’s growing transportation needs.
