Emergency Management
- Develop, propose and implement emergency control strategies during major emergencies (all signals on blink, contraflow etc)
- Supports the coordination of ecavuation plans among federal, state and local transportation, emergency and law enforcement agencies that may be involved in a large scale evacuation
- Determine the expected traffic flow impact of each incident
- Propose and facilitate the appropriate control of traffic signals and other devices to reduce the traffic flow impact of an incident
- Provide status of all resources needed for incident resolution to those agencies responding to the incident
- Monitor maintenance, construction, and winter road conditions along key arterials
- Receive signal priority and preemption requests where available
- Maintain field equipment including traffic signals, and vehicle detection equipment
- Coordinate with other regional agencies during emergencies and evacuation for emergency traffic control
- Manage regional traffic control efforts and assist in coordinating traffic across boundaries
