VDOT TEOC

Status:

Existing

Definition:

The VDOT Transportation Emergency Operations Center (TEOC) in Richmond is responsible for statewide incidents such as Amber Alerts, major weather events. The TEOC is responsible for reporting certain types of events (pre-defined thresholds) per FHWA. The TEOC also provides information for 511, internal VDOT consumers, media, and VDOT public website. The TEOC as defined in this initial version of the architecture reflects the TEOC as it has been. Organizational and structural changes are currently underway at VDOT and the TEOC will most likely be affected by those changes. Due to the uncertainty of the final TEOC solution, the TEOC definition in the architecture was not changed for this initial version. As soon as the final decisions are made the architecture will be updated to reflect the future configuration. If you have any questions regarding the use of the TEOC definition for a project or planning activity, please submit your question through the Comments link in the banner at the top of this webpage.
