Service Graphic

Definition:

The Transit Passenger and Fare Management service manages passenger loading and fare payments on-board Wichita Transit vehicles using electronic means. It allows transit users to use a traveler card or other electronic payment device. Sensors mounted on the vehicle permit the operator and central operations to determine vehicle loads, and readers located either in the infrastructure or on-board the Wichita Transit vehicle allow electronic fare payment. Data is processed, stored, and displayed on the transit vehicle and communicated as needed to the Wichita Transit Operations Center.
