Definition:

The Wichita Transit CIS Broadcast Traveler Information service collects transit related advisories, general public transportation, air quality and weather information, and broadly disseminates this information through existing infrastructures and low cost user equipment (e.g., FM subcarrier, cellular data broadcast). The information may be provided directly to travelers or provided to merchants and other traveler service providers so that they can better inform their customers of travel conditions. Different from the Traffic Information Dissemination service, which provides localized HAR and DMS information capabilities, the Wichita Transit CIS Broadcast Traveler Information service provides a wide area digital broadcast service.
