Commercial Vehicle Operations for Wichita Area

The stakeholders in this regional area interface with each other to provide commercial vehicle management for the Wichita Area.

• Commercial vehicle operators are responsible for transporting goods including both long haul trucks and local pick up in the Wichita Area.
• Commercial vehicle operators will respond to commands from either Prepass equipment and the Kansas Highway Patrol instructing them to pull into a roadside safety inspection facility.

• The CVISN group is associated with the truckingks.org and is respnsible for posting the necessary permit and licensing information on the truckingks.org website.

• The CVO check station group is responsible for operating the roadside equipment used at CVO check stations to verify proper weights, credential, and safety information.

• Kansas Highway Patrol is responsible for verifying safety and credential information of commercial vehicle drivers once they have pulled into a check station.
