PSAP I-64 CIP

Project Description: VDOT cannot report road closure data to the Transportation Operations Centers (TOC) to properly reroute interstate closure incidents to arterial routes in localities effectively without knowledge of local road closure incidents. This project will collect local road closure data, provide it to the TOCs via the ATMS to be used to inform traffic diversion operations. The connection will provide situational awareness to VDOT's Traveling public as it relates to arterial route closures and re–routing potential to avoid major delays. In the Staunton District, the counties and cities included are Alleghany County, Rockbridge County, Augusta County, and the City of Staunton.
