Definition:

Media include radio stations, television stations, newspapers, and news reporters. The media are responsible for gathering transportation information and disseminating it to the traveling public.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Emergency Management
• Provide disaster and emergency traveler information including alerts, and advisories through television, and FM radio broadcasts

Incident Management
• Provide incident notification to the general public

Traveler Information Services
• Request traffic and incident information from information service providers and traffic management agencies (STC, STSS, CAPCOM etc)
• Provide regular traffic conditions information through traditional media (Television, FM Radio)
• Coordinate with other public and private ISPs for traffic images and information
• Provide alerts, advisories to travelers to enable traveling public to make better informed decisions both pre-trip and en-route
