Transit Services for Wichita Area

The stakeholders in this regional area interface with each other to provide transit information and services for the Wichita Area.

Sedgwick County Department on Aging
  • Sedgwick County Department on Aging is responsible for managing the efficiency of the paratransit service and help to ensure vehicles are being routed through areas that experience low congestion levels based on information from the Wichita Area traffic agencies.
  • Sedgwick County Department on Aging is responsible for providing the paratransit services for the elderly community in Sedwick County.
  • Sedgwick County Department on Aging is responsible for tracking their vehicles for schedule and route adherence.
Wichita Transit
  • Wichita Transit is responsible for providing the paratransit services for the elderly community in Sedwick County.
  • Wichita Transit is responsible for providing the surveillance and sensor information the Wichita Area public safety agences for rapid response to emergency situation.
  • Wichita Transit is responsible for providing passenger safety through on-board equipment. On-board equipment will be deployed to perform surveillance and sensor monitoring in order to warn of potentially hazardous situations. Transit user and transit vehicle operators will have the ability to activate alarms that are provided on-board. Public areas (e.g., transit stops, stations) are also monitored with similar surveillance and sensor equipment and provided with transit user activated alarms.
  • Wichita Transit is responsible for managing the efficiency of the paratransit service and help to ensure vehicles are being routed through areas that experience low congestion levels based on information from the Wichita Area traffic agencies.
