Definition:

Wichita Police Department (WPD) provides law enforcement services to the City of Wichita. The mission of the Department is "to provide professional and ethical public safety services in partnership with citizens to identify, prevent and solve the problems of crime, fear of crime, social disorder and neighborhood decay, thereby improving the quality of life in our community." The Department is comprised of numerous divisions and sections that provide specialized services. The Divisions include Patrol Division,Suport Services Division,Field Services Division among others.

    Emergency Management for Wichita Area
    • Wichita Police is responsible for providing public safety during disasters (manmade or natural diasters).
    • Wichita Police is responsible for addressing incidents, disasters, security threats, or any event that will cause a disruption to traffic flow and requires their assistance.
