Definition:

The City of Wichita Fire Department was founded in 1886 .At present it covers over 150 square miles of Wichita. The Wichita Fire Department provides fire suppression, fire investigation,fire prevention, citizen rescue, emergency medical services, and hazardous materials accident handling.

    • Wichita Fire Department (WFD) is responsible for providing public safety during disasters (manmade or natural diasters).
    • Wichita Fire Department is responsible for addressing incidents, disasters, security threats, or any event that will cause a disruption to traffic flow and requires their assistance.
