Suburban Emergency Dispatch Agencies

Definition:

This stakeholder group represents all of the suburban community emergency dispatch agencies external to the Cities of Wichita and Andover in the Wichita region.

Roles and Responsibilities:

    Emergency Management for Wichita Area
    • Suburban Emergency Dispatch Centers are responsible for making the Suburban Communities aware of incidents, disasters, security threats, or any event that will cause a disruption to traffic flow and requires their assistance.
    • Suburban Emergency Dispatch Centers are responsible for sharing incident related information with Surburban Communities, KDOT, Sedgwick County, and the City of Wichita in coordination activities.
    • Suburban Emergency Dispatch Centers are responsible for dispatching public safety during disasters (manmade or natural diasters).

    Incident Management for Wichita Area
    • Suburban Emergency Dispatch Centers are reponsible for making the Suburban Communities aware of incidents, disasters, security threats, or any event that will cause a disruption to traffic flow and requires their assistance.
    • Suburban Emergency Dispatch Centers are responsible for sharing incident related information with KDOT, Sedgwick County, and the City of Wichita in coordination activities.
    • Sedgwick Emergency Dispatch Centers are responsible for providing incident information to the traffic management and public safety agencies in the Wichita Area detected by patrol vehicles or motorist call-ins.
