Welcome to the Commonwealth of Virginia's Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Architecture web site for the Virginia Central Region's ITS Architecture. This site will provide you with information on all aspects of transportation-related information exchanges for the Virginia central region level. At the central regional level, it is important that each interface with other regions and the statewide elements are standardized. The architecture is consistent in how it shows the detailed exchange of information between the central regional systems (e.g., Traffic Operations Centers) and other regional systems. This architecture also defines the details for the central region ITS including the central region-to-statewide element interactions.
