Emergency Management
- Conduct offensive operations to mitigate a hazardous material emergency
- Supports the coordination of ecavuation plans among federal, state and local transportation, emergency and law enforcement agencies that may be involved in a large scale evacuation
- Create/Store and utilize emergency/incident response plans to facilitate coordinated response
- Use real-time traffic information recevied from other transportation agencies to aid the dispatcher in selecting the emergency vehicles and routes that will provide a timely response
- Maintain centralized emergency management system
- Monitor video images and audio surveillance data collected in secure areas inclduing those freqented by travelers and those typically away from travelers ( tunnels, bridges, roadway infrastructure etc)
- Provide security for public facilities owned by agency
Incident Management
- Provide transit incident information to trafifc management, emergency management and ISPs
- Respond to incidents on the transit property
Parking Management
- Support electronic payment of parking fees
- Determine and distribute the dynamic status of individual parking lots (full, open etc)
- Maintain and distribute static information about individual parkign facitlies including hours of operations, rates, lot locations, lot entrance locations, capacity, lot type (open, covered, parking) etc
- Manage parking reservations, parking lot use and revenue collection for parking facilities
Transit Management and Coordination
- Provide train arrival, schedule delay, incident information, and ADA required access information on in-station displays
- Provide train movement and wayside device monitoring and control, including third rail power
- Provides internet website with bus and rail system maps, rail station information, parking information, bus and rail schedules (also downloadable to PDAs) and fareas, trip planning, general alerts and advisories, accessibility and elevator/escalator status
- Coordinate schedules and services with other transit providers for regional transit management
- Develop a regional transit database for regional transit coordination.
- Monitor train movement on mainlines and in yards. Collect and monitor information about railcar, train revenue and non-revenue mileage, and schedule adherence
- Operate regional SmartTrip fare clearinghouse
- Provide automatic train control
- Provide dispatch function and tracking for bus operators
- Provide in-station and in-bus fare boxes, garage and central fare processing equipment for fare collection and passenger counts
- Provide SmartTrip-SMRT service that provides overall management and coordination for fare collection programs and ridership statistics
- Provide subscription based - real time system status, alerts and advisories to personal information access devices like emails, pagers, cellphones etc
- Provide the capability for transit buses to request transit signal priority through short range communications directly with traffic control equipment
