VDOT's District 9: Northern Virginia District ITS Architecture

Welcome to Virginia DOT's District 9: Northern Virginia District Regional Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Architecture web site. This site provides information on all aspects of transportation-related information exchanges for the Northern Virginia District. At the district level, it is important that each interface with other districts and the statewide elements are standardized. The architecture is consistent in how it shows the detailed exchange of information between the Northern Virginia district systems (e.g., Local Signal Centers) and other district systems. This architecture also defines the details for the Northern Virginia District ITS including the district-to-statewide element interactions.
