Definition:

This market package represents the National Advisory Warning System and other emergency centers monitoring and detecting potential, looming, and actual disasters including natural disasters (hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, winter storms, tsunamis, etc.) and technological and man-made disasters (hazardous materials incidents, nuclear power plant accidents, and acts of terrorism including nuclear, chemical, biological, and radiological weapons attacks). The market package also notifies all responding agencies of detected emergencies along with traffic and transit agencies that are in the NOVA region (e.g., VDOT NOVA STC, VDOT NOVA STSS, NOVA Local Signal Centers, and NOVA Local Transit Centers, and others).
