5.1.9: Process Roadside Automatic Crash Notification Messages
This process shall collect advanced automatic crash notifications and relay messages information from passing vehicles and other connected devices (such as personal information devices) via short range communications. This AACN and relay data may include basic information such as location, time, or the anonymous identity of the device or making the request for help. This AACN message may also include relay information so that the sending vehicle is really providing a request for another vehicle further away. This process shall provide the collected crash notification messages to other processes within Manage Emergency Response to effectively respond to the request. This process shall receive acknowledgement from the responding process in order to discontinue sending the notifications and to discontinue the relay. These acknowledgements shall be transmitted out to the passing vehicles as well that may still be trying to relay the same crash notification.
