Standards
As the Connected Vehicle Reference Implementation Architecture (CVRIA) is developed, one of the uses of this architecture will be to develop a plan that will allow identification and prioritization of the standards needed in support of connected vehicle implementation. Adoption of existing industry standards from other areas, adaption of existing standards as well as the need for the development new standards will be considered.
These pages provide references for some of the industry standards associated with connected vehicle, and a link to provide feedback to the DOT and their team developing the plan.
- CVRIA forms a reference framework for the development of connected vehicle interface standards. The CV Standards page provides an overview of the ITS standards activities that pertain to the connected vehicle environment and their relationship to CVRIA.
- As the architecture identifies new interfaces and services a plan is being developed in order to identify and prioritize the standards that are needed to support the connected vehicle environment. The CV Standards Plan page is used to highlight elements of the plan along with analysis and data from the plan.
- The CV Standards Plan will be a 'living document' that will evolve as connected vehicle research and deployment activities provide additional inputs into the standards program. Throughout this process the US DOT invites stakeholders to share their insights and offer their feedback to the plan. Use the CV Standards Plan Feedback page to enter your comments or to submit a question for the team.
