RSE configuration monitoring and management info (A-Interconnect): This CVRIA application interconnect encapsulates all of the Layer 2 information flows between two application objects: 'RSE Device Management', and 'Center Connected Vehicle Infrastructure Management'. This application interconnect is bi-directional since the underlying layer 2 information flows carry data in both directions.

Roadside Equipment (Source Physical Object): 'Roadside Equipment' (RSE) represents the Connected Vehicle roadside devices that are used to send messages to, and receive messages from, nearby vehicles using Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) or other alternative wireless communications technologies. Communications with adjacent field equipment and back office centers that monitor and control the RSE are also supported. This device operates from a fixed position and may be permanently deployed or a portable device that is located temporarily in the vicinity of a traffic incident, road construction, or a special event. It includes a processor, data storage, and communications capabilities that support secure communications with passing vehicles, other field equipment, and centers.

RSE Device Management (Source Application Object): "RSE Device Management" provides executive control and monitoring of the RSE hardware and installed software applications. It monitors the operational status of the hardware and other attached field devices and detects and reports fault conditions. A back office interface supports application installation, upgrade, and configuration as well as remote control of the operating mode and hardware configuration settings and initiation of remote diagnostics. A local interface is provided to field personnel for local monitoring and diagnostics, supporting field maintenance, repair, and replacement.

Center (Destination Physical Object): This general physical object is used to model core capabilities that are common to any center.

Center Connected Vehicle Infrastructure Management (Destination Application Object): "Center Connected Vehicle Infrastructure Management" is the back office application that supports monitoring and maintenance of the Connected Vehicle infrastructure (RSEs, support systems, and associated communications links). It monitors the performance and configuration of the infrastructure portion of the Connected Vehicle Environment. This includes tracking and management of the infrastructure configuration as well as detection, isolation, and correction of infrastructure service problems. The application also includes monitoring of performance of the infrastructure equipment, including RSEs and communications links.
