US: SAE Other J2735 - Local Unicast Wireless (1609.2)
Description:
This solution is used within Canada and the U.S.. It combines standards associated with US: SAE Other J2735 with those for V-X: Local Unicast Wireless (1609.2). The US: SAE Other J2735 standards include upper-layer standards required to implement V2X information flows that do not yet have fully specified functionality and performance charcateristics. The V-X: Local Unicast Wireless (1609.2) standards include lower-layer standards that support local-area unicast wireless solutions applicable to North America, such as WAVE DSRC, LTE-V2X, LTE, Wi-Fi, etc.
Comm Profile: V-X: Local Unicast Wireless (1609.2)

Standards in Profile:
| Level | Doc # | Standard | Description |
|---|
| Access | | Bundle: Local Unicast Wireless SubNet (US) | A set of alternative standards that can be used to wirelessly unicast information device-to-device in a range of a few hundred meters without requiring the aid of a 3rd entity base station. This includes technologies such as WAVE, C-V2X, and the device-to-device mode of 3GPP 4G and 5G. NOTE: WAVE and C-V2X are both intended for the same 5.9 GHz spectrum, which is currently assigned to WAVE within the US; however, as of late 2019, the FCC is considering a proposal to reassign portions of this spectrum. |
| Security | | Bundle: IEEE 1609.2 | A bundle of standards that groups a set of IEEE security standards together for easy reference. |
| TransNet | IEEE 1609.3 | IEEE 1609.3 WAVE - Networking Services | This standard defines the network and transport layer options for the WAVE environment. The standard defines three options: a bandwidth efficient single-hop solution known as WSMP, UDP/IP, and TCP/IP. It has been harmonized with ISO FNTP and FSAP - a common message format specified in ISO 16460. |

Standards in Profile:
| Level | Doc # | Standard | Description |
|---|
| Facilities | SAE J2735 | SAE J2735 DSRC Message Set | This standard defines the data and messages for use in DSRC (i.e., V2V, V2I, and V2D) applications. The SAE J2945 series defines additional requirements on how to use these messages. |
| ITS Application Entity | SAE J2735 | SAE J2735 DSRC Message Set | This standard defines the data and messages for use in DSRC (i.e., V2V, V2I, and V2D) applications. The SAE J2945 series defines additional requirements on how to use these messages. |
Readiness Description:
One serious or several significant issues. This category often includes proprietary or partial solutions. The communications solution may fail to provide even a base level of interoperability and security. Consider alternative solutions, or define specific revisions or upgrades that would provide a level of interoperability or security that are needed for the deployment.
