Definitions

signed target CA cert (Information Flow): An identification certificate for the destination certificate authority, signed by the sending authority.

Root CA (Source Physical Object): A 'root certificate authority' (RCA) is a certificate authority that issues certificates for other entities and whose certificate was issued by itself.

Intermediate CA (Destination Physical Object): An 'intermediate certificate authority' (ICA) is a certificate authority (CA) whose certificate was issued by another CA and whose main responsibility is to issue certificates to another CA; that is, an authorization certificate authority, and enrollment certificate authority or another ICA.
