Pathway Equipment --> Traveler:
traveler pathway updates

Definitions

traveler pathway updates (Information Flow): Visual or audio information (e.g., pathway status, messages, guidance, emergency information) that is provided to the traveler.

Pathway Equipment (Source Physical Object): 'Pathway Equipment' represents the equipment that is distributed along pathways that monitors and supports movement on the pathways and interfaces with electronic devices used by travelers on the pathways. This physical object includes elevators, escalators, electronic turnstiles, pedestrian (and other VRU) detectors, electronic signage, electronic waypoints, and warning systems for pathway users.

Traveler (Destination Physical Object): The 'Traveler' represents any individual who uses transportation services. The interfaces to the traveler provide general pre-trip and en-route information supporting trip planning, personal guidance, and requests for assistance in an emergency that are relevant to all transportation system users. It also represents users of a public transportation system and addresses interfaces these users have within a transit vehicle or at transit facilities such as roadside stops and transit centers.

Interoperability Description
Not Applicable Interoperability ratings don't apply per se to some types of interfaces like human interfaces. These interfaces may still benefit from associated standards (e.g., ergonomic and human factors standards for human interfaces), but the primary motive for these standards is not interoperability.

Rating Low Moderate Moderate
Basis Probably no obfuscation is needed as most of the information in this flow should be otherwise observable. Information should be correct and available or wayfinding will not function well. A re-levelling of integrity measures may consider this LOW, depending on the importance of wayfinding. Information should be correct and available or wayfinding will not function well.
