Road conditions, traffic incidents, construction work zones, traffic information/expected delay, event travel, and parking in the City of Pittsburgh area (initial focus on major corridors, downtown Pittsburgh and Oakland).
Community–based Traveler Information Agencies (TMAs)Provides commuter and community–related traveler information for principal regional transportation hubs (downtown Pittsburgh, Oakland and Airport area). Includes road conditions, incident information, event information, travel alerts and transit traveler information. Includes three region TMAs (ACTA, OTMA, and PDP) and the SPC CommuteInfo Ridesharing Program.
Mid–Mon Valley Transit Authority (MMVTA)Transit traveler information including fare and schedule information, schedule performance, operational changes, and travel alerts through web and smartphone applications. Also includes demand response trip reservations, route planning support.
ParkPittsburgh partnersTraveler information service providing real–time parking information, rates and availability, reservations, and event–related travel assistance for visitors to the Cultural District in downtown Pittsburgh. Participating partners include Carnegie Mellon University software developers), Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, Pittsburgh Parking Authority, and participating Private Parking Operators.
PennDOT – Pittsburgh RegionThrough the 511PA Pittsburgh traveler information service on Twitter, PennDOT Districts in the region provide travel alerts, traffic video, road conditions, traffic information/expected travel times, traffic incidents, weather–related road safety, work zone traffic.
Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT)Through the 511PA traveler information service, PennDOT provides traveler information including road and weather conditions, traffic video, traffic incidents, work zone information, traffic information/expected delay and travel alerts for instrumented state–owned highways, especially the interstate system. Includes information from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. The 511PA app by PennDOT is supplemented by other telephone/voice, web and smartphone applications supported by PennDOT Central Offices.
Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC)Provides traveler information including road and weather conditions, traffic incidents, work zone information, traffic information/expected delay and travel alerts for the I–76 corridor (Pennsylvania Turnpike) and other PTC toll facilities. Information is available via telephone/voice, web and smartphone applications, including the 511PA traveler information website operated by PennDOT. Traveler information is also provided through PTC Service Plazas and digital message signs located at strategic intervals along the PA Turnpike and other PTC toll facilities.
Pittsburgh International Airport (PIA)PIA provides flight and other information for airport customers. Parking information for arrivals. Traveler information – road conditions, incident information, traffic information/expected delays, weather, and travel alerts for 'ground–departures'. Airport status for man–made or natural disasters/events.
Pittsburgh Parking Authority (PPA)Provides information on parking availability (for drivers and personal devices) for PPA facilities, mostly in downtown Pittsburgh. Parking reservations can be made at select facilities (Cultural District) using the ParkPittsburgh app (web and smartphone).
Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT)Provides transit traveler information, fares and schedules, real–time schedule performance, demand response transit reservations, operating changes and travel alerts for transit agency customers (web and smartphone apps, remote traveler support).
Port of Pittsburgh Commission (PPC)PPC envisions a freight travel information system serving trucking needs accessing participating Port of Pittsburgh river terminals. Future provision of road conditions, traffic incidents, work zones, traffic information/expected delay and truck parking/layover information.
Private Trip Planning ServicesStand–alone data and map provider for trip planning, route selection, and traffic information/expected travel time applications.
Regional MediaProvides travel alerts and media reports on the status of the regional transportation system.
Regional Transit AgenciesProvides transit traveler information, fares and schedules, real–time schedule performance (where available), demand response transit reservations, operating & service changes and travel alerts for transit agency customers (internet availability and smartphone text apps).
Regional Traveler Information AgenciesFuture integrated traveler information service integrating separate regional applications for roadway and weather conditions, traffic/delay, incidents, event travel, construction work zones, transit, and parking information.
Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission (SPC)Provides ridesharing and ride–matching services, and transit–related traveler information for the Pittsburgh metropolitan area / ten–county SPC region.
