Definition:

The 511 Stakeholder Group contains the primary stakeholders involved with the Kansas statewide 511 phone-based traveler information services as well as a future Wichita area 511-based traveler information website.

Roles and Responsibilities:

    Alerts and Advisories for Wichita Area
    • 511 is responsible to provide an initial alert message when a traveler phones in to the 511 system.

    Traveler Information for Wichita Area
    • 511 Stakeholder Group is responsible for the Kansas 511 system. A variety of interactive devices may be used by the traveler to access information (traffic congestion, road weather conditions, and multi-modal) prior to a trip or en route including phone via a 511-like portal, kiosk, Personal Digital Assistant, personal computer, and a variety of in-vehicle devices.
    • 511 Stakeholder Group is responsible for posting natural and man-made disaster information on the Kansas 511 system. 511 Stakeholder Group is responsible for posting wide area alerts and amber alert information on the Kansas 511 system.
