Implement AVL technology for Transit Roles and Responsibilities Roles and Responsibilities

Stakeholder	Role and Responsibility
GoTriangle	Coordinate with multimodal transportation agencies, including airports, commuter rails, and heavy rail.
	Provide automated dispatch and scheduling for the fixed–route system. Provide operator instructions and receive schedule performance information from transit vehicles while in service.
	Provide transit schedule and fare information to the GoTriangle call center, GoTriangle website, and NC 511.
	Track and evaluate schedule performance on all fixed–route transit vehicles.
	Provide customer service interfaces with demand–responsive users –– IVR, text, web.
	Provide automated dispatch and scheduling for the demand–responsive or paratransit system.
	Provide transit passenger electronic fare payment capabilities on all transit vehicles.
	Coordinate transit security incidents with local police and the county sheriff.
	Monitor transit facilities for safety and security purposes using video surveillance and through transit user activated alarms.
	Provide transit security on all transit vehicles through silent alarms and on–board video surveillance.
	Track the location of transit vehicles.
	Coordinate transit schedules with other local transit agencies, particularly for transit connections at transit transfer points.
	Provide transit traveler information on the agency's traveler information systems.
	Coordinate with the local traffic operations centers for traffic signal priority.
	Count the number of passengers entering and exiting a transit vehicle using sensors mounted on the vehicle.
	Communicate the collected passenger data entering and existing a transit vehicle back to the transit management center.
	Provide operator instructions and receive schedule performance information from transit vehicles while in service.
	Smart card fare coordination with other regional transit agencies.
	Provide transit traveler information to private sector traveler information services and on all transit vehicles.
	Provide automated transit maintenance scheduling through automated vehicle condition.
