Maintenance and Construction for Triangle Regional ITS Architecture Roles and Responsibilities

Stakeholder	Role and Responsibility
Cary	Coordinate a maintenance or construction request from the local TOC.
	Perform maintenance for ITS field equipment owned by the agency.
	Provide maintenance and construction information to NCDOT county maintenance units; regional maintenance and construction operations; and the traveling public through portable DMS devices.
	Coordinate with other municipal and county maintenance and construction systems, as well as the NCDOT county maintenance units.
	Manage work zones for all local maintenance and construction activities, and monitor work zone safety with local field devices and vehicles.
	Distribute roadway construction, maintenance information and work zone information into TIMS for distribution to other traffic management agencies and transit agencies.
Chapel Hill	Coordinate a maintenance or construction request from the local TOC.

	Collect environmental information from NCDOT field equipment, and from public and private weather service providers.
	Provide environmental data to public and private weather service providers.
	Coordinate maintenance or construction requests from the NCDOT State Roadway Maintenance or the TRTMC.
	Perform maintenance for ITS field equipment owned by the NCDOT.
