Hardware

Hardware refers to the physical parts of a computer and related devices. Internal hardware devices include motherboards, hard drives, and memory. High-Occupancy Vehicle (HOV)

Vehicles carrying two or more people. The number that constitutes an HOV for the purposes of HOV highway lanes may be designated differently by different transportation agencies.


Highway Rail Intersection

A highway rail intersection, also called a highway-rail grade crossing represents a special type of intersection where a road intersects an at grade railroad track.


Historical (H)

One of the values for the Time Context Flow Characteristic. Data that is historical (relevant at the time of reporting for an indefinite interval).


Host Vehicle

A connected vehicle that receives messages from a remote vehicle. Sometimes, the host vehicle is also used to describe the originator of a vehicular transmission of information to the RSU. (See Remote Vehicle)


HTML

HyperText Markup Language. A language for marking up documents with a set of tags that designate the design and display intention of the author and how sections or documents are linked together. These documents are displayed as pages with text and graphics that can be viewed through the use of a browser.


Hyper Current (HC)

One of the values for the Time Context Flow Characteristic. Data that is hyper current (relevant at the time of reporting for applications that require sub-second response). Also known as "Now" in CVRIA.


Hyper Local (HL)

One of the values for the Spatial Context Flow Characteristic. Data that is hyper local (relevant to a geographic area within ~1 minute travel distance). Also known as "Adjacent" in CVRIA.
